The American Samoan Government meets the Samoan Prime Minister and her Cabinet from the Samoan Government.
The two Samoan Nations discuss their respective futures.
The Head of State of Samoa remains Tuimalealiifano Tui Aana for another 5 year term.
The Head of State of American Samoa, remains, President Biden and Kamala Harris as their Vice President.
The last time Samoa was united, my ancestor was the Samoan Tafaifa, or the Supreme Ruler of Samoa. His name, Malietoa Talavou. The brother of Malietoa Moli. Malietoa Talavou was the son of Malietoa Vainuupo. Upon the passing of Malietoa Talavou, the Tafaifa title was conferred not to his son, but, was wrested away from the descendants of Malietoa Talavou, Le Tonumaipe'a, Mai le Maota O Pouesi, The London Missionary Society Church was the proxy of the British Government, whom had supported the descendants of Malietoa Moli, or the descendants from Le Maota O Poutua. His son was Malietoa Laupepa. Whose son, would inherit the Malietoa title as Malietoa Tanumafili. His son, born in 1904, would become Malietoa Tanumafili le lua. He passed away in 2007 as the last Malietoa as the Head of State of Samoa.
Malietoa Talavou as the last true Tafaifa of Samoa had ruled all of Samoa. This would include tutelage over the holder of the Tui Manu'a of American Samoa in the last century. Therefore, Malietoa Talavou as the Tafaifa, was an equivalent as the KING of Samoa, under a Kingdom of Samoa, until his passing in 1880, and Malietoa Laupepa would contend with other rivals up until 1889 when the Berlin Tripartite Treaty which was then ratified resulting in the dividing of Samoa, to Western Samoa and American Samoa (Eastern Samoa)
American Samoa and Samoa have recently entertained the thought of reunification. However, the temptation to severe ties with Washtington DC is not compelling for the American Samoans at all. The American Samoans have become Americanised wirh over 180,000 Samoans now living Stateside, including my wifes family.
I am a direct descendant of Malietoa Talavou from my mother's father side, from le aiga Sa Tuiletufuga family, from Apia Village. Apia Village would have the Capitol of Samoa named after my ancestral village in the heart of Apia.

Interesting to see how the Tongan Armed Forces will be present at the next Talisman Saber military exercise in 2023. Samoa is excluded as per usual simply because Samoa has no Armed Forces. Funnily enough, the British had deliberately denied the  Samoans a military branch since the British Empire invaded German Samoa on August 29th, 1914. Samoa has never had a military branch. Nor does Samoa every want to. It is percieved as unnecessary. Samoa is twice the population of Tonga and yet Samoa has no military branch. The Tongan Kingdom has a military branch and police force which was deliberate by the British government in the anticipation of the Tongan Kingdom representing the Polynesian race as part of the Polynesian Kingdom, whereas Samoa was meant to be a vassal to Tonga according to the British designs with the Tonga having a Kingdom and Samoa Princedom which has now morphed into a Presidential syle of musical chairs amongst Amalgamated Cheiftains ensuring that Samoa remains a sub...
